All dogs have a playful side, while some breeds are more playful than others most dogs enjoy doing something playful with their handler, owner, human family, or friendly strangers. Dogs, in general, have a lot of energy that they can use up throughout the day and daily
physical activities are good for both their emotional and physical health. Having some fun with your dog will also strengthen your bond, build loyalty, and reduce destructive behavior. Other benefits of playing with your dog are that their joints stay lubricated, healthier heart, strengthen coordination, and balance. Not only is playing well for your dog it is also good for you. Here are a few fun things your dog will enjoy doing:
Dogs love running after objects and catching them with their mouths this is why balls are a dog’s favorite toy. Taking a few minutes to throw a dog with your dog will give him some fun and fitness at the same time.
Just like a man needs special requirements and training to become a police officer or part of law enforcement so does a dog. It takes special characteristics and abilities to become a K9 dog and several months of proper training to qualify to go out on duty. Law enforcement often choose certain dog breeds to train, popular choices are: German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, Bloodhounds, Dutch Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Rottweilers, Boxers, Doberman Pinschers, and a few other breeds that have excellent working abilities and cooperative nature with their handlers.

Just like a ball, a frisbee works the same way except dogs have to work a little harder by jumping in the air to catch the frisbee. This fun activity will strengthen your dog’s legs and coordination.
While dogs aren’t water animals they do enjoy splashing in the water. You can let your dog swim in your backyard pool, at a lake, or a beach that allows dogs in the water. If your dog isn’t a great swimmer this fun activity will help them practice their swimming skills.
Tickle and pet your dog
Playful wrestling your dog will allow you and your dog to bond and have some fun. Petting, tickling, hugging, and playfully wrestling your dog on the grass or ground will show them affection, attention, and rolling around will be fun for them.
Hiking is a great way to incorporate exercise while having fun exploring and discovering the areas around the hiking trails. This will also expose them to different outdoor elements and help build their sense of direction. It is important that you bring enough water for you and your dog during longer than normal physical activities.
Go to the park
Going to the local park or dog park is perfect for some fun as well as people watching. Dogs are curious animals and enjoy watching people participate in activities especially children. Taking your dog to the park gets you both outside of the house for some fresh air and some sun which will provide a healthy does of Vitamin D for healthy living. To get the most out of your park trip make sure to bring a restraint so your dog doesn’t run off and bags to pick up after your dog just in case they poop.
You can also take a cross country road trip to visit relatives or close friends. Driving to your destination allows you to see the scenery of different cities and towns. You can also pull over anytime you want for a quick rest or to fill-up on gas. If you do plan on taking a road trip vacation it would be best to attach a dog tracking GPS just in case. Whatever you choose to do to have fun remember your dog will appreciate your thoughtfulness and care.
